Overview
Lisa Ono, a pioneer of the bossa nova scene in Japan, will undertake a three-city Billboard Live tour in 2024. She released her debut album Katopiri in 1989, and the 1999 album Dream became a hit, selling over 200,000 copies. She has won the Jazz category of the Japan Gold Disc Award four times. Over the years, she has built close ties with the godfather of bossa nova, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and jazz-samba maestro João Donato, and in 2013, in recognition of her contributions to promoting bossa nova in Japan, the Brazilian government awarded her the National Order of Rio Branco; her influence is immeasurable. Please enjoy to the fullest the soothing rhythms born from a natural guitar sound and her refreshing, clear singing voice.
