In addition to her music activities as an artist, Erika Ikuta, who is active across a wide range of fields including musicals and dramas, will perform her first solo Billboard Live concert. Born in 1997 in Düsseldorf, Germany, she debuted in 2012 as a first-generation member of Nogizaka46. From the start, her high level of singing ability has been highly praised, and alongside her busy idol activities she has appeared in numerous musicals, including Romeo & Juliet and Les Misérables. Since graduating from the group in 2021, she has served as MC of NHK’s Venue101 from April 2022, and in 2023 she voiced the Japanese version of the main character Asha in Disney’s 100th-anniversary production Wish, further expanding her borderless activities. As a solo artist, she released her first EP, capriccioso, in April 2024. It includes the track “Dakara ne” produced by Ryota Yanagisawa of SUPER BEAVER, as well as covers of IVE, Fujii Kaze, and Naotaro Moriyama, along with numerous original songs written and composed by herself. The release vividly expresses Ikuta’s earnest wish to accompany everyday life through music. With capriccioso in hand, this concert marks her first solo show since Erika Ikuta Tour 2024 “capriccioso,” which concluded in September. Billboard Live’s jazz-club ambience raises expectations for the live piano performance, which she has honed since childhood.
