Larry Carlton, the fusion legend known as “Mr.335,” who had announced a hiatus from live performances for some time, is set to return to the Billboard Live Yokohama stage. He began his professional career in the late 1960s, and after his stint with The Crusaders, released in 1978 a jazz-fusion masterpiece, “夜の彷徨.” The track “Room 335” became a hit, and Larry became a sought-after session musician, drawing calls from renowned artists such as Steely Dan, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, and many others. To date he has been nominated for the Grammy Awards 19 times, winning four times, and here at Billboard Live Yokohama he has long moved us with a string of memorable performances. He will deliver mature guitar playing and a repertoire featuring classics by The Crusaders and Steely Dan, as well as rare Fourplay tracks that are seldom performed, exclusively on the Billboard Live Yokohama stage.
