Shishido Kavka's improvised rhythm-session project el tempo (El Tempo) returns to Billboard Live Yokohama for the first time in about five years.

el tempo is a rhythm project devised by Argentine percussionist and producer Santiago Vazquez, weaving sound with more than 100 hand signs. Shishido Kavka learned this method in Argentina and, together with Japan’s leading artists, has expressed one-of-a-kind rhythms based on that approach. In 2021, their appearance at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics closing ceremony drew renewed attention. And this year, their activities have gained even more momentum, with appearances at major festivals and live shows.
