SKYE is a special band formed by the legendary lineup from the dawn of Japanese rock—Shigeru Suzuki (guitar), Rei Obara (bass), Tatsuo Hayashi (drums)—with Masanori Matsutoya (keyboards), who has long led Japan’s rock and pop scene, joining the ranks. They reactivated in 2019, released their first album in 2021, and in 2022 pulled off their first solo tour. After nearly a year of creating their long-awaited second album, this show will be the record-release tour for that album, with many new songs performed. A horn section featuring Hikari Ichihara (tp), Kaori Kobayashi (sax), and Itsumi Komano (tb) has also been confirmed as supporting musicians. Furthermore, in July the eagerly awaited second original album is set for release, heightening expectations for the track selection.
