Jazz pianist Chihiro Yamanaka, based in New York and active worldwide, will hold a special live at Billboard Live Yokohama. She graduated at the top of her class from Berklee College of Music in the United States. In Japan she debuted with Sawano Studio’s “Living Without Friday,” and overseas with the prestigious Decca Records label. Since then, her releases have consistently topped the jazz charts, and she has energetically continued performing live around the world. In March 2024, she received the Jazz Critic’s “Jazz Audio Disk Award 2023,” and in October released a new album, Carry On, on the Blue Note label to celebrate the 100th birthday anniversaries of the great musicians Bud Powell and Henry Mancini. A flood of jazz passion and the latest sounds, including her original compositions, make this an utterly must-hear, must-see record. For this concert, with Yujiro Yoshimine on bass and Kan Sugiyama on drums, she will lavishly perform originals, new pieces, and standards. Additionally, as a special guest, saxophonist Yukko Miller will appear.
