Overview

Singer-songwriter Nao Matsuzaki will make her Billboard Live Yokohama debut. She will turn 50 in 2026. Debuting in 1998 on Epic/Sony, she has released nine albums to date. Her singular music—where opposing sensibilities such as strength and delicacy, adult and childlike coexist—has earned wide support. From 2006 to the present, Matsuzaki’s song “Kawabe no Ie” has been used as the theme song for NHK General’s “Document 72 Hours,” becoming a representative piece loved by all generations. In 2017 she released a digitally distributed collaboration with Ringo Sheena, “Otona no Okite,” and appeared on “Music Station Super Live 2017.” From 2018 to 2019 she appeared as a guest at Akiko Yano’s “Satogaeru Concert,” and also appeared on TBS’s “Christmas Promise 2019” featuring Kazumasa Oda, earning high praise from artists across fields. In the 2018 film “Blue Hour ni Buttobasu,” she for the first time scored the entire film. For the 2023 film “Crayon Shin-chan: Shiro of the Charcoal Town,” she performed the theme song. Tomoyuki Nagasawa feat. Matsuzaki Nao’s “Boku mo” was aired on NHK’s “Minna no Uta.” Since 2016, she has also been active as guitarist and vocalist for the band Shika no Ichizoku, releasing four albums. Be sure to enjoy up close the world Matsuzaki Nao paints—with a powerful voice, introspective and heartfelt lyrics, and rich musical expression.
