Since forming in 1980, the UK-based fusion pop group Shakatak, beloved around the world, return to Billboard Live as spring arrives.

They made their debut with the 1981 album Drivin’ Hard, and in 1982 the single “Night Birds” reached the UK Top 10. The eponymous album also became a long-running hit, peaking at number 4 on the charts, propelling their name worldwide.

In Japan as well, their songs have continued to color the times and scenes through placements in TV dramas and commercials.

Even after celebrating their 45th anniversary, their journey shows no signs of slowing.

In recent years they have issued commemorative releases and staged special performances, and since the start of 2026 they have been actively touring, mainly in Europe.

Their sound, continually updated to catch the current mood, and a groove grown more mature, are lending Shakatak’s performances a fresh radiance.
