Patrice Rashen & Friends
Overview
From the 1970s to the 1980s, she rose to prominence with a distinctive style that fused jazz, pop, and R&B, and she continues to receive worldwide acclaim. Musician/composer Patrice Rushen makes her return to Billboard Live. Widely known for her signature song “Forget Me Nots,” she has been nominated for the Grammys three times and has been named an NEA Jazz Master. In addition to her work as a composer for film and television, she has served as music director for numerous major awards—the Grammys, the Emmys, the People's Choice Awards, Comic Relief, and the NAACP Image Awards—making history as the first woman to hold that role. She is also known as the first woman to serve as music director on a network late-night talk show. As one of the world’s leading jazz pianists, she has performed with such luminaries as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Prince, and Carlos Santana. Don’t miss a performance that embodies the groove, elegance, and charisma that define her career.
