As the “busiest” drummer and percussionist in Japan, Shun Ishiwaka, who besides his own projects such as Answer to Remember has earned broad trust from many artists including Ringo Sheena and Kenshi Yonezu. What he devotes the most energy to alongside performing is composing, and since 2016 he has continually released works as his life’s work—the Songbook Project. To date he has released six albums, continuing to express a world of song woven from tranquil yet diverse timbres and rhythms. This time, Billboard Live Osaka will host a special concert commemorating its 10th anniversary. In addition to Ishiwaka, the lineup centers on the musician Mami Kakudo, known for her free expression with voice and percussion, and also features Sora Kimishima, Kaze Fujii, Aina The End, etc., guitarist Shuta Nishida, and Taishi Nakamura, who uses a wide range of instruments in theater and film music, as they join in a special arrangement to bring that worldview to life. Look forward to a dense stage where beautiful melodies intersect with genre-defying rhythms.
