Lisa Ono, a pioneering figure who has cemented an unassailable position in Japan’s bossa nova scene, will appear at Billboard Live in early winter. She released her debut album, Katopiri, in 1989, and the 1999 album Dream sold over 200,000 copies. She has also won the Japan Gold Disc Award in the Jazz category four times. Moreover, she has cultivated close ties with bossa nova legends such as Antonio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto, who passed away the year before last, and has continued to perform worldwide. With a natural vocal tone and guitar sound, her music offers gentle healing—please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
