Overview
Patrice Rushen, a musician/composer who rose to prominence in the 1970s–80s with a distinctive style that fused jazz, pop, and R&B and who continues to receive worldwide acclaim, makes her return to Billboard Live. Widely known for her signature hit "Forget Me Nots," she has been nominated for the Grammy Awards three times and was named an NEA Jazz Master. In addition to her work as a composer for film and television, she has served as the first female music director at a number of major awards, including the Grammys, the Emmys, the People's Choice Awards, Comic Relief, and the NAACP Image Awards. She is also known as the first woman to serve as music director on a network late-night talk show. As one of the world's foremost jazz pianists, she has performed with a who’s-who of artists including Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Prince, and Carlos Santana. Don't miss a stage that delivers grooves, elegance, and charisma that symbolize her career.
