Overview
Patrice Rushen, a musician/composer who first rose to prominence in the 1970s and 1980s with a distinctive style that blends jazz, pop, and R&B, continues to receive worldwide acclaim and makes a return appearance at Billboard Live. Widely known for her signature song “Forget Me Nots,” she has been nominated for the Grammy Awards three times and has been named an NEA Jazz Master. In addition to composing for film and television, she has served as music director for numerous major awards—including the Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards, People's Choice Awards, Comic Relief, and the NAACP Image Awards—becoming the first woman to hold these roles. She is also known as the first woman to serve as music director on a network late-night talk show. As one of the world’s leading jazz pianists, she has performed with a stellar lineup of artists such as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Prince, and Carlos Santana. Don’t miss a stage that embodies the groove, elegance, and charisma that define her career.
