〜Special guest Jun'ichi Inagaki
Chen Min Valentine's Live
Chen Min
Overview
Chen Min, a Chinese erhu player of traditional string music, makes her first appearance at Billboard Live Yokohama. After learning the erhu from her father, a music educator, in Shanghai, she became a leading performer with the Shanghai Yue Opera Orchestra. When she came to Japan in 1991, she rose to prominence with the 2001 album 'I Wish' (我願), becoming a catalyst for the erhu boom. Her activities cross genres—from participating in drama and film music to collaborations with top artists—continuing to pursue the possibilities of expression. This performance features Toshiya Shioiri on piano and Naoki Tate on percussion, and welcomes guest Junichi Inagaki for what will be their first collaboration. Be sure to enjoy her newly reimagined sound, born from the traditional erhu timbre.
