Amy Hanaiali'i
Amy Hanaiarii
Overview
With rich musicality and overwhelming vocal power, Amy Hanaiali'i, a Hawaiian songstress who represents Hawaii in both popularity and ability, will hold her first Japan concert in about four years at Billboard Live Yokohama. Influenced greatly by her grandmother Napua, a renowned kumu hula who contributed to choreography in Hollywood and Broadway, Amy has nurtured a deep love and respect for Hawaiian culture and traditional music. She was discovered by the late Genoa Keawe, known as "Hawaii's Treasure," and made her debut in 1995, becoming the first Hawaiian-language album to enter the U.S. charts. Furthermore, she has shone at Hawaii’s Na Hoku Hanohano Awards and has been nominated for a Grammy. Additionally, as a lyricist she has produced hits such as "Parehua," earning high praise. Please take the time to thoroughly enjoy her captivating falsetto and her delicate yet powerful voice.
