Taiko-centered traditional music and performing arts group Kodo discovers infinite possibilities in traditional taiko-based performing arts and is attempting a reinvention for the modern era. Since their debut at the Berlin Art Festival in 1981, they have performed over 7,000 times in more than 50 countries and regions. Their activities extend beyond theater performances to collaborations with top artists across various genres, participation in international events, involvement in film music, and the hosting of the International Art Festival in their base on Sado Island, among many other endeavors. Their dynamic, one-of-a-kind performances were highly acclaimed and drew widespread attention at their first appearance on the Billboard Live Osaka stage in spring 2023.
