Since forming in 2020, MIKAGE PROJECT has been reinterpreting and rearranging folk songs from across Japan with a contemporary sensibility, uniting to push the possibilities of wagakki for the next generation. Under the name “MIKAGE (御影),” a term that carries the meaning of divine spirits and the soul, they pursue a philosophy of leaving the musical spirits of our forebears to future generations through world folk music, and this marks their debut at Billboard Live.
