Overview
In April 2005, the four-member band Kariyushi58, formed in Okinawa, announced a Billboard Live Yokohama and Osaka tour. Their sound, which blends Okinawan scales with rock and reggae, and messages woven in plain language, are loved by a wide range of generations. The song "Anma," which directly expresses gratitude to mothers, drew widespread empathy and won the Japan Cable Awards New Artist Prize. This year marks their 18th anniversary since debut; with their uniquely Okinawan “Shima Uta” (Island Song), feel the colors of summer.
