Billboard Live presents Piano Duo Session in Yokohama Jun Shibata × Satoshi Takebe
Overview
Music producer Satoshi Takebe launches a special session-stage series, the “Piano Duo Session,” with its first regional performance. The artist appearing on this regional tour is singer-songwriter Jun Shibata, who delivered a big success at last year’s Tokyo show. Since debuting in 2001 with “Boku no Mikata” (“My Ally”), she has kept up a continuous musical activity, releasing hits such as “Glimmer of Moonlight” and “HIROMI.” In addition to songwriting, she has worked in many fields—narration, radio hosting, theater—and, after the pandemic, continued her activities while attending a vocational school and passing the 47th National EMT Examination in 2024. Last year, the four-year-delayed original full-length album produced by Satoshi Takebe, “901号室のおばけ” (The Ghost in Room 901), was released and drew attention. Takebe, who will share the stage with her, is a keyboardist and arranger who has worked with numerous artists and has served as the music director for Yumi Matsutoya’s concert tours since 1983. He has produced for Hitoto Yo, Miki Imai, Ken Hirai, JUJU, and also handled the music for Studio Ghibli’s From Up on Poppy Hill. Recently, he has expanded his activities with credits including the music for the film THE FIRST SLAM DUNK and as music director for Yuzuru Hanyu ICE STORY 2023 “GIFT,” among others. Don’t miss this stage where the two talents weave together—it's a performance you won’t want to take your eyes off for a moment.
