Shin Self-Covers: Monster Release Celebration
Shigeru Izumiya with BAND
Congratulations—at last the 77th birthday, Kiju. So what—LIVE!
Overview
Musician, festival founder, and actor Shigeru Izumiya continues his powerful, wide-ranging activities. Following last year’s well-received Tokyo performance, he will embark on a Billboard Live Tour with his latest album Shin Self-Covers: Monster. Debuting in 1971 with “Shigeru Izumiya Appears,” the title track of the following year’s Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter became a hit, propelling him into the spotlight as a folk‑world star. In 1975, together with Takuro Yoshida, Hitoshi Komuro, and Yosui Inoue, he founded For Life Records, and gradually leveraged his individuality to also pursue acting. Since then, in addition to music and acting, he has shown talent in the arts and has remained active across a wide range of fields. In February this year, the release of his first album in six years, Shin Self-Covers: Monster, is planned; the album includes two new songs and six self-covers, plus Takuro Yoshida’s debut song “Poem of the Image,” for a total of nine tracks.
This Billboard Live Tour will feature performances centered on the latest album, supported by a first‑rate lineup of band members. Please come and enjoy Shigeru Izumiya’s powerful, full‑throttle stage.
